The Taylorsville Lake Paddle Battle is a paddlesports event for beginning to advanced paddlers of SUP's, canoes, and kayaks, at beautiful Taylorsville Lake in Taylorsville, Spencer County, Kentucky. This event has received rave reviews in past years for the number of competitors, and how well the event was conducted. We have added chip timing this year to provide faster results for paddlers. Please join us for this years Paddle Battle stand up paddle board, canoe, and kayak race weekend.
The Paddle Battle is contested over 2, 6, & 10 mile courses that start and finish at the Taylorsville Lake State Park boat ramp, which is reserved exclusively for the racers during the event.
Taylorsville Lake is a scenic Corp of Engineers lake that is very popular for all types of recreational boaters, offering wooded shorelines and abundant wildlife. The State Park has 42 full service campsites, 24 miles of multi-use trails, and a boat ramp. There is a full service marina with a ramp, and 2 other ramps also at the lake.
We have added a new category to our 6 mile event for paddlers in recreational, whitewater, and fishing kayaks. If your kayak is 12' or less in length, and you are not competing for KWS points, this race lets you race with other people in "short boats".
If your boat is pedal powered, then you compete only against other pedal driven boats in the 2 mile event. Have some fun with other "pedalers"!
