The Paddle Battle is contested over 2, 6, & 10 mile courses which start and finish at the Taylorsville Lake State Park boat ramp, reserved for the exclusive use of the racers during the event.
Taylorsville Lake is a scenic Corp of Engineers lake that is very popular for all types of recreational boaters, offering wooded shorelines and abundant wildlife. The State Park has 42 full service campsites, 24 miles of multi-use trails, and a boat ramp. There is a full service marina with a ramp, and 2 other ramps also at the lake.
If your kayak is listed by the manufacturer as a fishing kayak, you compete against other fishing kayaks only in the 2 mile event, just don't troll a line during the event. No hooks allowed!
If your boat is pedal powered, then you compete only against other pedal driven boats in the 2 mile event. Have some fun with other "pedalers"!
