At noon on June 7 there will be a Paddle Stroke Clinic, that will be aimed at the intermediate to advanced racer, that will be conducted by Bruce Poacher of Epic Kayaks. This clinic will focus on race strategy and positioning, with a focus on how to most effectively execute buoy turns to your advantage. The clinic will last 2 hours, is limited to 10 paddlers, at a cost of $50.00.
The second clinic of the afternoon is an introduction to kayaking, for beginning paddlers. It will be taught by Mike Mudd, an ACA certified instructor, and assisted by other experienced paddlers, to allow more people to participate. It will feature both on land and on water instruction to teach safe paddling, and the proper use of your boat. This clinic will last for 1 - 2 hours. The fee for this clinic is $25.00. A great chance to learn how to enjoy your kayak.
The number of clinic participants is limited, and preference will be offered to people that are registered for the Paddle Battle 6 & 10 mile events. More info on all of these events will be posted soon, so be sure to follow this page, and that of one of our sponsors, Southern Paddlesports.
